The Product Canvas is a new feature that allows you to capture feature ideas, user stories, and other product ideas directly in GLIDR.
Now that we have both a Business Canvas and a Product Canvas, you can distinguish the ideas that are directly related to your market vs. related to your product. Both types of ideas can be tested, as always, through Discovery Tasks (research and experiments) and are backed up by evidence.
Here are some of the features of the Product Canvas and how you can make the most of them:
The roadmap view displays columns of ideas based on time and priority within your high-level feature map.
You can use the Product Canvas to organize ideas in a Kanban board and move them through stages like Now, Next, and Future or Backlog, Current, and Done. You can customize these names depending on what your team uses by clicking the column titles.
The status view shows the ideas grouped by their status within your high-level timeline. You can see which ideas are being tested and for which ideas the testing is complete. You can give ideas a status category for more granularity than the roadmap category.
The theme view displays your ideas grouped by theme. The default theme is "no theme" but you can create your own feature categories like desktop or mobile based on which themes make sense for your product.
To add new columns, scroll to the right and type the title where it says "Add new".
You can rearrange columns by dragging them into any order you'd like.
If you want to delete extra columns, clicking the ... (more) icon beside the title and then click "Delete section".
You can also make these changes in Canvas Settings. Access Canvas Settings by clicking the ... (more) icon in any column and select Customize in Settings. Here, you can also add and remove columns, reorder them, and rename the sections. Note: these settings are also accessible via Profile Icon > Team Settings.

Parked & Archived
By clicking Status and selecting Parked & Archived, you can view all ideas you've parked (not ready to work on just yet) and archived (not invalidated, but no longer part of the current project). Click back to "Other status" to go back to the normal view.
Product Canvas Filters
We've built more powerful filters that allow you to easily pare down and see your ideas. Select as many filters as you want to display the correlated ideas on your Canvas.
Product Idea vs. Business Idea
The Difference Between Product vs. Business Ideas
We've separated your business ideas from your product ideas. You can toggle between Business vs. Product Canvas views in the Ideas workspace. All ideas can be connected to the same data, such as evidence, research, and experiments, as well as to other ideas, but are displayed separately.
Your business ideas will relate to your business model, such as the value you're delivering, your target customers, and so on. Product ideas relate to features you're shipping, what you're building next in your roadmap, etc.

Changing Idea Type from Product to Business, and Vice-Versa
If you create an idea in your product canvas and realize it fits better in your business canvas, you can switch the idea type! Just click the ... more icon in the top navigation bar of the idea and select Change to [Business or Product] Idea. However, features that don't overlap (such as noting the theme of the product idea) may be lost in the conversion.
Connecting Product and Business Ideas
Connect your ideas to show correlations across data. Click into the idea, and select the Connections tab at the top. Select the tab for the type of connection you'd like to make (such as Ideas), and click the Connections Icon. Select all ideas you want to connect, and click X to save and close.
Product Canvas Settings
You can further customize your Canvas Settings! This can be done by clicking the ... (more) icon next to the column title and selecting Customize Settings. Another way to reach the settings view is to click your Profile Icon in the top right corner and select Team Settings from the menu that appears.
Here, you can choose to customize either the Product Ideas or Business Ideas, including status, theme, business model canvas type, and many more options.
Drag to reorder column titles, add or remove columns, and click to change the color for statuses.
