How to use the Jira Integration

Updated November 5, 20192 min read

Overview

The GLIDR & Jira Integration enables teams to seamlessly move ideas from roadmap to delivery, without losing context, by linking cards across both applications.

GLIDR to Jira

  • Pushing an Idea from GLIDR creates a new Jira Issue with linked cards visible in both systems
  • Title/description changes in GLIDR appear in the embedded card within Jira, but do not update the Jira card itself
  • Evidence connected to GLIDR Ideas displays in Jira below the GLIDR widget
  • Users without Jira access can view integration data but cannot access the linked Jira Issue

Jira to GLIDR

  • Pushing a Jira Issue creates a new Idea in GLIDR with linked cards visible across both platforms
  • Title/description changes in Jira appear in the embedded card within GLIDR, but do not update the GLIDR card
  • Stories connected to Epic Issues display in GLIDR below the Jira widget, allowing teams to track development progress
  • Users without GLIDR access can view integration data but cannot access the linked Idea

Current Limitations

The integration does not currently support:

  • Linking existing cards that were created separately
  • Connecting one card to multiple cards in the other system
  • Displaying Jira status on the GLIDR Product Canvas
  • Mirroring or overwriting status updates between platforms

Troubleshooting

If permissions are insufficient, users can request upgraded Jira permissions from their Site Administrator or have an admin implement the integration.
